Melva canutera: a small tuna from the Strait of Gibraltar, prized in Andalusia. Seasonal.
Melva canutera is bullet tuna (Auxis rochei), a small member of the tuna family caught around the Strait of Gibraltar. In Andalusia it is a delicacy with its own protected geographical indication, and it is almost unknown outside Spain.
It is a kosher species with fins and scales. We produce it in limited seasonal runs, so it works best as a pre-ordered specialty.
